Most of you will know my passion for pop music, and recently for country music. What you may not know is I also love electronic music as well. I know that's a super broad genre, and I can't really define it much better than that, but it is something I love. My Soundcloud probs shows that best.
Diplo has always been one of my favourite producers. His collab project with Skrillex - Jack U is behind one of my favourite releases of the year. And that infamous Where Are U Now? tune feat Justin Bieber is in my top five favourite tracks of all time. I just think its magical.
The New York Times just put out a mini-doc on how the song was made (see below), and it inspired me. It inspired me to finally get off my arse and do something I've always wanted to do, start making beats.
So I got Ableton. Yup, Ableton. And I'm watching as many tutorials as I can to develop my craft. Anyone with experience who wants to give a hand, please, just holla. Cos this bloody thing is complex, but I'm looking forward to the journey.
And then I saw this. DJs are the new motherfucking rockstars. This is a dream. This is a show. And this is everything I love about music. Watch the whole thing. It's worth it.
P.S - I gave Popshade a facelift, let me know what you think.
