Life seems to get even more crazy with each passing month for me. Lots of things have happened in my life since we last spoke, but I don't want to bore you, so I'm going to try and keep them all short and sweet!
Well, first of all, I went on my first abroad holiday! Yes, you wouldn't believe it, but I've never left Britain before April 2014. So, how was it? Err, it was alright. I went to Tunisia, and it was a cheap deal, but I worked out why it was cheap. It was bloody freezing! Okay, I might be exaggerating, but after the first day, I was walking around with either one or two jackets on every day. That's not how you're meant to spend a sunny holiday! I'm happy though, I found out that flying doesn't phase me in the slightest, which is great for me considering I want to go so many places around the world with my career. Oh, and I got to ride a camel, it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Okay, now the biggie. You may have noticed me being a bit quiet on social media and the likes over the past few weeks, and there is a reason for that. Me and Sarah are no longer together. Now before people freak out and go "omg what happened", let me point out, that it wasn't malicious in the slightest. Me and Sarah, after about two years together kind of knew that it wasn't working out. They say you only truly know if you're compatible with someone if you live with them, and it turns out it's true. Me and Sarah weren't compatible, and it's a shame, because I have had such an incredible two years with her. I owe Sarah a lot, she really brought me out of my shell, gave me confidence, and made me very happy, and I have to thank her so much for it. As sad as I am to see it end, I want the best for both of us, and unfortunately, us being together doesn't contribute towards that. I wish her all the best though, and I hope she ends up very happy!
So, you may be thinking, who got the flat? Well, I'm very lucky, Sarah let me keep the flat. I'm very happy about that. The flat makes me very happy, and I can't explain how much I love being in town, and that extra feeling of independence. It's helped me through a lot over the past few months, and I'm extremely grateful I get to stay here.
Hmm, besides those biggies, what else? Well, I've been to loads of gigs recently. Loads of local bands have been winning me over like crazy, with special shouts going to Adelphia, Tom Wardle and April Towers. I just this weekend went to Hit The Deck Festival which was fucking awesome; not only did the Nottingham bands make me so proud, but I also got to see and meet my idols The Summer Set, The Maine and Kids In Glass Houses. They all played their old albums, which happen to be the ones I have the most memories of, and it was incredible. I'm glad they lived up to my expectations!
The next few weeks are going to be about me getting my head together, sorting plenty of exciting things for Popshade (which includes a few events over the Summer) and as cheesy as it sounds, just enjoying life with all the incredible people I have around me. This past month has truly shown me how many amazing people are in my life, and how much they care for me, and for that, I am very thankful! Let's see what these next few months have in store for me.
P.S Here's a track I've been going absolutely crazy over this past week or so -
